Food insecurity is spooky.
Did you know that in the U.S. alone, we spend $3.1 billion in Halloween candy every year? If we used 8.4% of the money spent, we could pay off every child’s school lunch debt across the country. In 2023 alone, 30.4 million children can’t afford their school meals, and 10.6 million children live in households that lack a consistent food supply. This October, Trader Joe’s is donating a portion of all proceeds to go towards children and families suffering from food insecurity.
For the graphic direction, unique characters using craft foam printmaking and a spooky typeface to make the iconic Trader Joe’s style come alive in this campaign.
